The Morya Cathedral offers a dynamic venue capable of hosting a broad range of social and cultural events. Evening celebratory dance parties, daytime children’s birthday’s and intimate spiritual gatherings of prayer and enlightenment are all accommodated within the open to sky basilica. Two large volumetric spaces creating a dynamic environment of contrasting proportions are set adjacent to one another. The primary central hall is covered using vaulted steel members with operable glazed panels; creating an airy roof open to the sky. It’s perimeter is surrounded by accessible garden balconies; allowing access to natural breezes and views towards the city beyond. Adjacent to the main hall, a broad compressed volume provides the spaces necessary to host various events, including food stations, offices, and toilets.
